Bewilder Box escape rooms are suitable for everyone. We’ve had families, friends, old people, young people, work team building, stag/hen parties and everyone else in between. The game is designed to be enjoyed by everyone.
For the comfort and enjoyment of our players, our games are designed to work for between 2-7 players. If you’re looking to book for more people, you’ll need to book more than one game….and perhaps race to see who can get the fastest time.
Re-booking an empty slot at short notice is tough! For this reason, like a theater or concert ticket we cannot offer refunds for cancelled bookings. No shows are also non-refundable.
All you’ll need is your brains and your team mates, everything else is in the room.
Nope, none of our puzzles involve physical challenges.
Unfortunately not – in the Bewilder Box Initiative story, Dr Wilder mysteriously vanishes back in the 1980’s never to be seen again. His brilliant legacy lives on through recorded format only, whilst in Judgement D.A.V.E., The Masternet 9000 is an AI and not an actual person.
Both of our sites (The Bewilder Box Initiative at The Hobgoblin and Judgement D.A.V.E at The Brunswick) usually operate 5 games a day, there are as follows: 12:15, 14:00, 16:00, 17:45 and 19:30. If you would like to enquiry about games outside of these times, please email us email@example.com
That’s 100% up to you! We’ve had a fair few Bewilder Babies come through the doors since opening and while they’re not usually good at solving puzzles, they are very welcome.
You will not be locked in and will be free to leave at anytime. If you are still unsure then please get in touch and you’d be very welcome to come and have a look at the game area in advance of booking.
Accessibility varies across our two sites although both games as situated up a set of stairs– please see our Accessibility Statement here for full details.
We use a small amount of strobe lighting which can easily be switched out with no effect on the experience. Please specify if you like this done.
Yes you do. This can be done via the bookings section of the website.
Please aim to arrive 15 minutes before your timeslot and wait for collection in the bar downstairs. You are more than welcome to arrive earlier than this though and enjoy food, drinks and if the weather is nice, the awesome beer garden.
Yes! Bewilder Box experiences are situated above a pub and drinks purchased downstairs can be consumed in the room. We want you to have fun but we do have a very strict policy when it comes to inebriated participants and recommend doing most of your drinking after, rather than before the game. If we suspect anyone has had too much to drink, then there is a good chance we will ask them to leave. After all, your minds will need to be at their sharpest if you want to succeed!

An escape room experience with Bewilder Box is a mini 60 minute adventure. Part puzzle game, part immersive theatre, players will have to work together to complete challenges against the clock whilst taking part in an immersive story and interacting with various unusual characters.
How long it takes you to escape from the room is entirely down to your team. Each experience usually lasts between 75 and 90 minutes. This consists of a 10-15 minute brief, up to 70 minutes of gameplay time within the room itself and a short 5 minute debrief and photo opportunity at the end.
An escape room challenge is room or rooms filled with an assortment of puzzles or tasks which you and your team must work together to solve. Once each element is solved, you’ll receive a key, code or piece of information which will help you with the next one. The challenge is to complete the entire game within the fastest time possible.
If you’re looking to hold a larger party at Bewilder Box Escape Rooms Brighton, then please get in touch. Each of our games can hold up to 7 players, however it’s possible to book multiple games and even multiple sites to accommodate much larger groups. It is also possible to arrange private spaces, pre-booked food or booked tables with the pubs in advance.
There is no minimum age, although we recommend the game for players aged 13 and above. Younger children are welcomed though (especially as part of a larger family group). Please note that due to venue licencing, minors (under 18’s) cannot be present in either of our venues after 8pm. This means the late slot (7:30 – 9:00pm) cannot be booked for parties that include minors.
All groups below the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
